Last Wednesday I went out with Aiden Hargis to take some fun neon portraits. These are some of the photos to get an example of the look
I had brought a number of things to potentially help create the soft, neon look I was trying for (a CD and flashlight to create rainbow patterns, glowsticks, and some others), I ended up just using one thing, a pink vase from the dollar store stuffed with fairy lights.
Coupled with the bright neon lights all around Michigan Avenue, the vase created interesting light reflections in the camera when held close to the lens. The fairy lights inside created the nice big bokeh balls in the foreground too. Definitely worth the maybe $10 I spent to put it together.
